Pompeii is a Roman city that was covered in volcanic ash during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

It is one of the Great Wonders of the World: its extraordinary state of preservation makes the visit an unforgettable experience, as even after 2000 years, fascinating details of how people lived, worked, and played during the Roman Empire can still be seen.

After visiting Pompeii, our guided tour continues with an incredible journey through green orchards and lava flows up to 3000 feet on Mount Vesuvius.

A path leads to the edge of the crater where a local mountain guide will show you the route, pointing out the 'fumaroles' that reveal that the volcano, though dormant, is still active.
